At Red Oak Christian Church, we believe that faith is not just about attending church services, but about living out our beliefs in every aspect of our lives. From our Sunday services to our community outreach programs, we strive to make a positive impact in the world and to help all who join us on their spiritual journeys.
Whether you are new to faith, seeking to deepen your relationship with the Lord, or simply looking for a supportive and welcoming community, we invite you to come and experience the love and fellowship of Red Oak Christian Church.
Our Pastor
In May 2023, Reece Jones returned to Greenville, NC as the pastor of Red Oak Christian Church.
Red Oak Christian Church is part of a shared ministry with Ayden Christian Church, another Disciples of Christ congregation in Pitt County, NC. Both churches maintain their own identity and have separate services. However, we share a pastor as well as other aspects of ministry.
Our History
On Sunday, April 16, 1871 eleven excited people met to organize a Disciples of Christ congregation called Berea. Fourteen years later, on Sunday, October 18, 1885, a permanent building was dedicated, and the church was renamed Red Oak Christian Church. It was named Red Oak after the beautiful location filled with red oak trees on what is now Dickinson Avenue. In 1972 the church moved across Greenville Blvd. to its current location. Red Oak Christian Church recently celebrated over 150 years of Christian fellowship. Today we honor our rich heritage while continuing to be a faithful, growing church that celebrates true community, deep Christian spirituality, and a passion for justice.
Christian Church (Disciples of Christ)
We are part of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), a movement for wholeness in a fragmented world. As part of the one body of Christ, we welcome all to the Lord’s Table as God has welcomed us.
